Crime Stoppers International’s prestigious Global Annual Awards celebrate the remarkable achievements of Crime Stoppers programs and partners; as well as individuals who exemplify extraordinary commitment to our mission at local, national and international levels; and corporate and private sector entities that may not be working directly with a Crime Stoppers program but are achieving outstanding results in reducing crime, increasing community awareness, or enhancing law enforcement capacity or capability.

This year, sponsorship of the Global Annual Awards will run in parallel with CSI’s 2026 World Summit in Panama on 14-16 October, with key Award recipients honored at the Summit & Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday 15 October.

All four categories of Awards are available to be individually sponsored or one company may wish to sponsor the full suite of Awards and receive 2026 naming rights.

Global Award Categories

  • Individual Recognition Awards : entry to the CSI Hall of Fame

    Crime Stoppers Lifetime Achievement Award (formerly, the Coralie Wagner Memorial Award) – recognizing an individual with a long-standing commitment to the Crime Stoppers mission.

    Outstanding Crime Stoppers Volunteer of the Year Award (formerly, Civilian of the Year Award) – celebrating a volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional dedication.

    Law Enforcement Partnership Award (formerly, the Paul D Boudreau Program Coordinator Award) – honoring an officer or unit that has effectively collaborated with Crime Stoppers.

  • Media Partner Awards

    Media organizations (advertising, marketing, communications, and public relations agencies) that have provided exceptional support to one or more Crime Stoppers programs.

    Excellence in Media Support for Crime Stoppers – honoring journalists or media outlets for outstanding local, national or international coverage.

    Community Impact of the Year – recognizing a media company (local, national or international) that has contributed significantly to Crime Stoppers' success as demonstrated through the achievement of extraordinary reach or markedly increased engagement.

    Best agency-developed initiative – recognizing an innovative or wide-reaching media campaign (traditional print, radio, television, website or social media) that:

    • addresses a specific crime type or community concern

    • raises awareness about Crime Stoppers generally; or

    • provides a call-to-action for a targeted audience.

  • Crime Stoppers Program Awards

    Global Expansion Award – recognizing a recently established Crime Stoppers program that has achieved proficiency and positive results. (Formerly the Gary Murphy Global Expansion Award: created in honor of a past CSI President, who was passionate about encouraging the establishment of new programs to expand the Crime Stoppers global footprint and reach.)

    Most Impactful Crime Stoppers Program – recognizing the most significant contributions by a national or local Crime Stoppers program, determined through success metrics such as total property seized, total drugs/firearms/tobacco seized, or total arrests etc.

    Innovation in Tackling Crime Award – highlighting a program that has implemented a new technology or leveraged the use of an existing technology or creative outreach strategies in delivering the Crime Stoppers program to their community.

    Community Engagement & Awareness Award – rewarding outstanding public engagement, demonstrated through the development and implementation of innovative, impactful and sustainable training or community crime awareness initiatives and covering a specific crime type or community concern, as determined through metrics such as reach, level of engagement, increase in category-specific tips received pre- and post-campaign.

    Cybercrime & Digital Safety Initiative Award – recognizing a program tackling online crime, fraud, and digital threats.

    Collaboration Award – recognizing a Crime Stoppers program that has collaborated with another Crime Stoppers program(s) in the spirit of cooperation to:

    • deliver positive mutual outcomes

    • share resources or technology

    • undertake joint projects to reduce crime; or

    • bring awareness of crime types to their communities.

  • Corporate & Private Sector Awards

    In recognition of entities – companies, not-for-profits, non-governmental and civil society organizations – that may or may not be working directly with a Crime Stoppers program and are achieving outstanding results in reduction of crime, increased community awareness of crime, or increased law enforcement capacity or capability.

    Outstanding Enhanced Safety Award – recognizing an entity or team that has made significant contributions to public safety through intelligence-sharing, surveillance, or crime prevention initiatives.

    Corporate Leadership in Crime Prevention Award – honoring an entity that has demonstrated a strong commitment to crime prevention through funding support, awareness campaigns, or technology development.

    Technology & Innovation in Security Award – celebrating an entity or individual that has developed cutting-edge security technology or digital solutions that enhance crime detection and/or prevention.

    Retail & Business Crime Prevention Award – recognizing a retail or corporate entity that has implemented outstanding measures to reduce fraud, theft, or organized retail crime.

    Public-Private-Partnership in Crime Reduction Award – acknowledging a collaborative effort between law enforcement and the private sector to address crime through intelligence-sharing, joint operations, or security initiatives.

    Cybersecurity Leadership Award – recognizing an entity that has demonstrated excellence in cybercrime awareness, training and prevention, data protection, and digital threat mitigation.

Nomination & Selection Process

Important dates - UPDATED

  • Awards open: Monday 1 June 2026

  • Awards close: Monday 13 July 2026 midnight New York time

  • Winners notified under embargo: w/c 28 September 2026

  • Winners formally announced : 15 October 2026

Eligibility

  • Open to Crime Stoppers programs, law enforcement agencies, private security firms, businesses and corporations, and media agencies.

  • All entries must pertain to activities conducted last calendar year.

Entry Fee

  • Individual Recognition Awards | Crime Stoppers Program Awards | Media Partner Awards: if the Crime Stoppers program submitting a nomination is a Member of CSI or is member of a National or Regional entity that is a Member of CSl, there is no entry fee.

    For all other Crime Stoppers programs, an entry fee of US $50 per submission applies.

  • Media Partner Awards: media agencies are welcome to submit entries direct. An entry fee of US $100 per submission applies.

  • Corporate & Private Sector Awards: an entry fee of US $200 per submission applies.

Evaluation Criteria

Impact (eg demonstrated engagement, reach), innovation, scalability, and alignment with the Crime Stoppers mission.

Judging Panel

Members of the Judging Panel are drawn from crime prevention, corporate security, and law enforcement, and are supported by CSI’s Global Annual Awards Team.

Terms & Conditions

  1. All submissions must relate to activity conducted last calendar year.

  2. Any Crime Stoppers program submitting an Entry, whether formally affiliated with CSI or not, must be a member in good standing with their respective Regional or National Crime Stoppers entity; or must be operating in line with the fundamental principles of the Crime Stoppers ethos – that is, be providing a strictly anonymous reporting channel; be a registered not-for-profit charity governed by an independent board; and have a formal agreement with law enforcement for the receipt of anonymous tips.

  3. Nominees for Individual Recognition Awards agree to media publicity and promotion associated with the Awards, including the use of any photos submitted or taken at the Awards Presentation Ceremony.

  4. Nominees for an Individual Recognition Award cannot have been a previous recipient of the same Award category.

  5. Entities nominating for a Corporate & Private Sector Award agree to media publicity and promotion associated with the Awards.

  6. All criteria should be addressed in submissions - see the Hints & Tips section for useful suggestions.

  7. Supporting documents and images must accompany a submission.

  8. Supporting documents and images submitted may be used and distributed by CSI for media and promotional purposes.

  9. Incomplete submissions or submissions entered in a false community size (population) category will be disqualified.

  10. Decisions of the Judging Panel are final.

Hints & Tips

  1. Make sure you have everything before starting to fill in an Entry Form - all necessary information, supporting documents, images, URLs and social media handles.

  2. Review and understand the general information and guidelines for your Award category because they are not all the same.

  3. Carefully read the entry criteria to determine the most appropriate category for your Award entry.

  4. Be sure to complete the correct Entry Form and fill in all fields.

  5. Keep your answers short and to the point.

  6. A separate Entry Form is required for each Award submission/nomination.

  7. If your submission is for a Crime Stoppers Program Award, double-check that you have nominated the correct community size (population) your program serves.

  8. Submissions must address the criteria specified for the Award category, and must clearly demonstrate the achievements of the individual, program, campaign or activity.

  9. Include all relevant URLs, hyperlinks, social media handles and make sure these work.

  10. Provide a 50-word synopsis for each submission for potential publicity purposes.

  11. If your submission is for an Individual Recognition Award, include a brief bio (100 words) and at least one recent high resolution head & shoulders picture (.jpg) of your nominee.

  12. Check you have spelt everything correctly because this is how things will appear on Awards – the name of your program or company; the name of any nominated individual; the nominated campaign or initiative; any partner organization.

  13. Email copies of your supporting documents (statistical reports, media articles, images, video etc) and your program or company logo to awards@crimestoppersinternational.org These must be recent, clear and relevant to your submission.

  14. Do one final check to make sure you’ve addressed all of the above before you hit Submit.
