Cybercrime
Cybercrime has surpassed illegal drug trafficking as a criminal money-maker, continuing to grow at an incredibly fast pace as criminal networks capitalise on the speed, convenience and anonymity of the internet.
Many ‘cyber-enabled’ crimes are not necessarily new – such as theft, fraud, illegal gambling, the sale of fake medicines. But, online, they have taken on a whole new dimension.
Despite a significantly increased focus on cybersecurity in recent years, cybercrime is a large-scale corporate concern.
And, cybercrime is more aggressive and confrontational across high-tech crimes, data breaches and sexual extortion. Online crimes causing serious harm and posing very real physical threats to victims worldwide is an all too constant, ever-growing and evolving phenomenon. This includes the distribution of child sexual exploitation material, the live-streaming of the sexual abuse of children and vulnerable persons, the production of deep-fakes, the sextortion of teenagers, and even the facilitation of human trafficking.
Every day, critical infrastructure is disrupted, people lose their life savings, and vulnerable young people face brutal threats of sextortion.
Bring a halt to cyber criminals.
